"If every 8 year old in the world is taught meditation, we will eliminate violence from the world within one generation". Dalai Lama
Currently one in ten children has a diagnosable mental health condition, which equates to approximately three children in every classroom. In modern society, 24 hour connectivity to social media, online gaming and the constant pressure to be virtually connected at all times means that children and young people struggle to switch off and live in the present moment. They feel pressure to achieve at school, to keep up with their peers, to be constantly occupied with activities and to live the 'perfect' life which can lead to unnecessary stress, worry and anxiety. With the additional worries and changes to society we are currently facing, children and young people are looking to us as adults to provide them with guidance and support, to help them navigate their feelings and emotions and to encourage their self confidence in this often difficult and fast paced world.
